Oh, Hello there!
Thanks for swinging by!

My name is LEFTY LUCY and I've been a Theater Professional since 1989, a Burlesque Performer since 2009, an Art Model since 2013, and a Playwright since 2021. I've worked retail, and food service, and publishing too, but I find I'm the most useful to others and happiest when I'm working in community to create what we now call "content", but let's call it what it really is — reasons for living.

Surviving through this Late Capitalist Hellscape (LCH), it's easy to forget that the reason we all hustle isn't merely to pay the bills; our hustle is supposed to enable us to engage in LIVING — and I've been put on this Earth to help you LIVE! But, also thanks to the LCH, I can't help you without asking you to help me 🙈

But, I know that if I'm investing in something or someone, I'd like to know where my money is going. After all, there's only so much money and oh so many places it could go! So here's a little list of what your support and donations go toward…

  • Want to see my MR TASTEE (The Adventures of Pete and Pete) act come together? I've hired a costume & wig designer and know what the music edit needs to be, but I need a Patron to actually FUND these elements and help make this dream come true!

  • Do you miss seeing my CARMEN SANDIEGO, PSYCHO Shower Scene, Neil Gaiman's DELIRIUM, STAR TREK Opening Credits, the RIDDLER, the JABBERWOCKY, and MR ROBOTO burlesques? All 7 of these acts have costume elements in disrepair, preventing me from throwing in my hat to share the big stages in New Orleans! Your help in completing these upgrades enables me to get better bookings, which results in my needing less help and ability to give you more! HELP ME HELP YOU!

  • In order to share my content with you, I have to subscribe for epically large storage in Google and on Vimeo.

  • Again, thanks to the LCH, Insurace is negligible, and the little it does cover has mostly resulted in Doctors telling me that I shouldn't be in pain without offering any exploration or aid. I don't talk about it a lot, but I live with a lot of physical pain daily. Most foods make me sick in some way or another, but not eating makes me sicker sooooo.... yah. Anyway, my workaround for the lack of care the medical field can provide is to get an hour long massage every other week, and go sit in the Hot Tub and Sauna on a rotation at least monthly. Unfortunately, the Country Club on Louisa has made their membership prices a bit out of my reach, and I often don't have the ability to engage in this Physical Therapy / Self-Care.

  • FINALLY — Something that you see the direct benefit from! By being a Patron you not only support my costume upgrades and physical care, you contribute to my ability to pay a talented photographer to take awesome/scary/sexy shots of me that I can then share with you!!!

If you're interested in sponsoring a specific act, photo shoot, costume upgrade, or Country Club membership directly, just Venmo or PayPal with a note about what you'd like to sponsor, and your email address. I will send you a status update on that project, and will send you personal updates as the project progresses!

Thanks again for checking me out! I hope you decide to join me on this wild ride toward surTHRIVEal!

xo,
Lefty Lucy

In the Fall of 2013, Lefty Lucy had the honor of performing as the headlining burlesque performer in the World Premiere of Tennessee Williams Chorus Girl Plays, presented as part of the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival.

Having begun her career in the neo-burlesque epicenter of the World, she was privileged to be an original member of one of the first Nerdy Burlesque Troupes in the country, Epic Win Burlesque, and performed annually at Nerdapalooza held in Orlando. After headlining Alternatease with Darlinda Just Darlinda in 2014, she took over the mantle of Executive Producer for the original International Nerdlesque Festival, and was selected as one of 4 Nerdlesque All-Stars on the debut Fan-2-Sea Comic Con Cruise in 2017. Theatrical … Everything

Lefty Lucy isn’t just an entertainer—she is also a wardrobe mistress, playwright, and more!
She began her love affair with the Theater in Elementary School. After participating in the Serendipity Theatre Company. Youth Summer Intensive at the historic Coronet Theater in Los Angeles, Lefty continued her education as one of only 30 children between the ages of 8 & 18 accepted as part of the Serendipity Youth Ensemble.

Upon graduating from Serendipity, Lefty continued her training in High School as a Theater major at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA then, “Arts High” now), and was also selected as one of a limited group students to participate in a Mark Taper Forum & Ahmanson Youth Program.

She continued her education in New York, studying Theater in college as well as on Broadway stages. She quickly became a personal shopper and wardrobe assistant, working with Costume designers for festivals, productions, and large scale events including the annual Broadway Bares.

In 2014, she became the first ever Wardrobe & Prop Master for the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival and has worked for a number of theaters in New Orleans including the annual New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane University as well as No Dream Deferred Theatre.

In 2021 she expanded her skills into the world of playwrighting, starring in the New Orleans premiere of her first-ever burlesque play, A PEEPSHOW NAMED DESIRE (originally Tennessee’s Latest Peepshow), and more recently BANANAS BURLESQUE

Publishing Pro

Graduating with an English Degree in the early 2000’s, Lefty Lucy dove head first into the world of publishing in New York with social art book publisher, Umbrage Editions. This small company on Canal Street got by with a tight staff, so if it wasn’t a decision for the publisher, PR, or design, it fell on Lefty’s plate. This trial-by-fire had her working with authors, artists and galleries as well as printers and shippers in Italy and China. She continued working in publishing for the next decade, proof-reading, copyediting, transcribing, and more.

She has recently begun transcribing all episodes of Story Behind the Story, a West Coast-based radio show & podcast featuring interviews with authors about their work.

For samples of her work, check out episodes 4, 9, 11, & 12, or purchase a copy of In Their Company: Portraits of American Playwrights. For any booking questions and rate information, please email Lefty here.

Art Model

Lefty Lucy began Art Modeling in 2013 at the Society of Illustrators, and took to it like a fish to water. The combination of a lifetime studying art and theater gave her a mastery of creating dynamic shapes for artists to draw.

By January 2014, she was invited to produce a monthly Burlesque-inspired sketch night. Additionally, she modeled regularly for such prestigious universities and schools including SVA, FIT, and Pratt, as well as for various drawing groups across the Tri-State Area. After moving to New Orleans, she began working regularly for the New Orleans Academy of Art, Tulane University, and Xavier University, as well as for The Blue Easel Drawing Club and a multitude of private clubs and independent artists.

You can draw Lefty Lucy for FREE every Tuesday in her online sketch night, LET’S ART! Visit the ART page to see the full collection since March 2020!

Sideshow Performer

Before winning the title of Miss Coney Island, Lefty Lucy began her training in Sideshow at Coney Island USA in a fire eating and breathing intensive hosted by Adam the First Real Man. From there, she continued her training on the road with the Circus Emporium Roadshow, learning skills like juggling, human blockhead, and other trade classics from legends including Cut Throat Freakshow and Enigma. When she returned from the 3 month premiere of the CER Tour, she debuted as a guest performer in the 10-in-1 Coney Island USA Sideshow, performing as Madame Twisto in Melvin Burkhart’s blade box, among other acts. She later went on to be one of the Great Throwdini’s favorite target girls, accompanying him in a variety of films as well as for Todd Robbin’s Monday Night Magic in New York City. She continues performing sideshow, melding it with striptease to bring a new twist to classic acts like the Straight Jacket Escape and Tennis Racket Contortion. You can see her today learning to juggle clubs on her Patreon. More details coming soon!
